Manuscript Types

Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin, published by Jayapangus Press, accepts original scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of theoretical knowledge, empirical research, methodological development, and practical applications across the humanities, social sciences, management, and related multidisciplinary fields.

Submissions must demonstrate clear relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope, encompassing humanities disciplines such as arts, history, languages, literature, music, philosophy, religion, and theater; social sciences such as geography, sociology, education, political science, law, public policy, social studies, and anthropology; and management disciplines such as commerce, economics, finance, accounting, corporate governance, human resource management, marketing management, quality management, and training and development.

The journal primarily accepts two main types of scholarly manuscripts: Original Research Articles and Review Articles. In addition, Case Studies and Literary Studies may be considered on a limited and selective basis, provided that they demonstrate scholarly originality, methodological rigor, substantial academic contributions, and clear relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope.

All four manuscript types may address subjects within the humanities, social sciences, management, or interdisciplinary research integrating these fields. The acceptance of Case Studies and Literary Studies is subject to editorial assessment, publication priorities, and compliance with the journal's established academic and ethical standards.

1. Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles present original empirical findings, theoretical investigations, or systematic scholarly analyses that contribute to the advancement of knowledge within the humanities, social sciences, management, or related multidisciplinary fields.

These articles may employ qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, historical, comparative, phenomenological, ethnographic, experimental, survey-based, research and development, or other academically recognized methodological approaches appropriate to the research objectives and disciplinary context.

Manuscripts may address various scholarly issues, including philosophical inquiry, religious studies, historical interpretation, literary and cultural studies, social transformation, educational development, political institutions, legal systems, public policy, organizational management, economic activities, financial management, corporate governance, human resource development, marketing strategies, and other subjects within the journal's Focus and Scope.

Research may utilize primary or secondary data, interviews, observations, surveys, experiments, historical documents, literary texts, institutional records, organizational data, or other academically appropriate sources.

Authors must clearly articulate the research objectives, theoretical framework, research design, data sources, methodological procedures, principal findings, and scholarly implications.

Submissions must demonstrate originality, methodological rigor, critical analysis, and substantial contributions to theoretical understanding, empirical knowledge, disciplinary development, or practical applications.

Original Research Articles must extend beyond descriptive accounts of events, institutions, cultural practices, organizational activities, or existing scholarly knowledge by presenting meaningful original findings and academically justified interpretations.

2. Review Articles

Review Articles provide critical, comprehensive, and methodologically sound examinations of existing scholarly literature relevant to the humanities, social sciences, management, or interdisciplinary research.

Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin welcomes narrative reviews, scoping reviews, systematic literature reviews (SLRs), integrative literature reviews, and other academically recognized review approaches.

Review manuscripts may examine theoretical developments, philosophical perspectives, historical interpretations, religious and cultural studies, social phenomena, educational research, political and legal institutions, public policies, organizational management, economic theories, financial practices, corporate governance, and other disciplinary or multidisciplinary research topics.

Review Articles must extend beyond descriptive summaries of previous publications by critically synthesizing existing research, identifying significant knowledge gaps, evaluating theoretical and methodological developments, examining scholarly debates, analyzing emerging research trends, or proposing new conceptual frameworks and directions for future research.

Authors must clearly describe the literature identification and selection procedures, academic databases or scholarly sources consulted, inclusion and exclusion criteria where applicable, and analytical or synthesis methods appropriate to the selected review approach.

The findings must demonstrate analytical originality, theoretical relevance, methodological transparency, and meaningful contributions to scholarly knowledge.

Review Articles must provide critical interpretations and original scholarly synthesis rather than merely compiling, summarizing, or reproducing findings from previously published studies.

3. Case Studies

Case Studies present systematic and in-depth investigations of specific phenomena, institutions, organizations, communities, events, policies, practices, or situations relevant to the journal's multidisciplinary Focus and Scope.

Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin considers Case Studies on a limited and selective basis, provided that they demonstrate substantial scholarly contributions, methodological rigor, analytical originality, and clear disciplinary relevance.

Case Studies may address humanities subjects such as cultural traditions, religious practices, historical events, philosophical perspectives, artistic expressions, and cultural heritage; social science subjects such as community interactions, social institutions, educational practices, political processes, legal systems, public policies, and social transformations; or management subjects such as organizational governance, business practices, financial management, human resource development, marketing strategies, and organizational performance.

Interdisciplinary Case Studies integrating perspectives from the humanities, social sciences, and management are also encouraged when they contribute to understanding complex social, cultural, institutional, economic, or organizational phenomena.

Authors must explain the academic justification for case selection, research objectives, theoretical framework, research context, data sources, methodological procedures, principal findings, and broader scholarly implications.

Case Studies must demonstrate analytical contributions beyond descriptions of institutional activities, organizational conditions, community experiences, cultural practices, or individual events.

The findings must be critically interpreted using relevant theories, conceptual frameworks, and previous scholarly research.

Case Studies are accepted only when they satisfy the journal's selective editorial requirements and demonstrate meaningful contributions to scholarly knowledge within its established Focus and Scope.

4. Literary Studies

Literary Studies present original scholarly analyses of literary works, historical texts, philosophical writings, religious literature, traditional narratives, cultural texts, and other textual materials relevant to the humanities, social sciences, management, or interdisciplinary scholarship.

Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin considers Literary Studies on a limited and selective basis, provided that they demonstrate analytical originality, theoretical relevance, methodological rigor, and substantial scholarly contributions.

Literary Studies may investigate literary, philosophical, religious, historical, linguistic, sociocultural, political, educational, organizational, or managerial dimensions of textual materials through appropriate academic approaches.

Relevant research topics may include literary criticism, historical and cultural representations, philosophical and ethical perspectives, religious narratives, traditional literature, social identity, gender relations, political discourse, cultural transformation, organizational narratives, leadership discourse, corporate communication, and other textual phenomena relevant to the journal's Focus and Scope.

Research may employ textual analysis, literary criticism, hermeneutics, semiotics, discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, content analysis, comparative literary analysis, narrative analysis, historical interpretation, or other academically recognized analytical approaches.

Authors must clearly identify the primary textual materials, research objectives, relevant theoretical frameworks, procedures for selecting and analyzing texts, principal findings, and scholarly implications.

Literary Studies must demonstrate critical interpretation supported by appropriate textual evidence, relevant theoretical perspectives, and previous scholarly research.

Manuscripts that merely summarize literary works, reproduce textual materials, describe cultural narratives, or present interpretations without substantial scholarly analysis are not considered sufficient for publication.

Literary Studies are accepted only when they demonstrate meaningful original contributions to literary scholarship, humanities research, social sciences, management, or relevant interdisciplinary knowledge.

5. Manuscript Length and General Requirements

All manuscripts submitted to Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin must not exceed 8,000 words, excluding the reference list, table contents, and figures. The word count includes the abstract, main text, footnotes, and table and figure captions.

All manuscript types must follow the journal's official article template and applicable Author Guidelines, including the required manuscript structure, abstract requirements, methodological transparency, integrated Results and Discussion, citation and reference standards, and publication ethics policies.

Submissions must demonstrate originality, relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope, theoretical or practical significance, methodological soundness, coherent academic argumentation, and substantial scholarly contributions.

The editorial team conducts an initial screening to evaluate manuscript suitability, academic quality, disciplinary relevance, compliance with author guidelines, and adherence to publication ethics before determining whether the submission proceeds to the peer-review process.

Original Research Articles and Review Articles remain the journal's primary publication categories, while Case Studies and Literary Studies are accepted on a limited and selective basis. All four manuscript types are evaluated according to their scholarly quality, methodological appropriateness, originality, and contribution to knowledge within the humanities, social sciences, management, or related multidisciplinary fields.

Through this policy, Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin seeks to maintain consistent academic standards, promote high-quality multidisciplinary scholarship, and support the responsible dissemination of original research and critical scholarly contributions.
