Archiving Policy

Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin, published by Jayapangus Press, is committed to supporting the long-term preservation, security, integrity, and accessibility of its published scholarly content across the humanities, social sciences, management, and related multidisciplinary fields.

To support digital preservation, the journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) publishing platform, which supports the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) digital preservation system. LOCKSS enables participating libraries to collect, preserve, and maintain distributed copies of scholarly publications, helping protect academic content against data loss, technical failures, and interruptions in website accessibility.

The LOCKSS system operates through a distributed preservation mechanism in which participating libraries maintain independent copies of published content. These copies can be periodically verified to detect inconsistencies, corruption, or missing materials, allowing affected content to be restored from other preserved copies when necessary.

Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin supports the use of a LOCKSS Publisher Manifest through its OJS platform to facilitate the identification and preservation of published journal content by authorized participating libraries.

The availability of a LOCKSS Publisher Manifest facilitates digital preservation but does not, by itself, confirm that journal content has been successfully archived by participating libraries. Actual preservation depends on the relevant preservation arrangements and successful collection of journal content.
