Authorship Criteria

Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin, published by Jayapangus Press, is committed to upholding academic integrity, transparency in author contributions, and scholarly accountability in all published articles. This authorship policy ensures that every individual listed as an author has made a substantial intellectual contribution to the research and accepts responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the published work.

The policy applies to all manuscripts within the journal's Focus and Scope, encompassing the humanities, social sciences, management, and related multidisciplinary fields, including Original Research Articles, Review Articles, Case Studies, and Literary Studies.

1. Authorship Criteria

An individual may be listed as an author only if they meet all the following criteria:

a. Substantial Intellectual Contribution: Made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the research, acquisition or collection of data, selection and examination of scholarly sources, analysis, interpretation of research findings, or development of original theoretical and conceptual arguments.

b. Manuscript Preparation and Critical Revision: Participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising its intellectual content, including theoretical arguments, methodological explanations, scholarly interpretations, analytical discussions, or research conclusions.

c. Final Approval: Reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript before submission or publication.

d. Accountability and Research Integrity: Agreed to take responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of their scholarly contributions and to cooperate in addressing questions or concerns regarding the validity, originality, or ethical compliance of the research.

These criteria apply consistently across the humanities, social sciences, management, and interdisciplinary research. Authorship contributions must be evaluated according to the characteristics of the research and the intellectual work actually performed.

Contributions limited to administrative assistance, financial support, general supervision, institutional authority, routine data collection, technical editing, or language proofreading do not automatically qualify an individual for authorship.

Individuals who have contributed to the research but do not meet all authorship criteria may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section, subject to their consent.

2. Author Contributions and Order

All authors must agree on the order of authorship before the manuscript is submitted.

The order of authors must reflect an agreement among the contributors and must not be determined solely by academic rank, institutional position, professional authority, financial contribution, or other considerations unrelated to legitimate scholarly contributions.

To promote transparency, authors are encouraged to provide an Author Contributions statement identifying each author's specific intellectual contributions to the manuscript.

This statement may refer to the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT), which includes roles such as conceptualization, methodology, investigation, formal analysis, data curation, writing—original draft, writing—review and editing, supervision, and other relevant research activities.

Each author may hold more than one contributor role, depending on their actual involvement in the research.

For humanities research, contributions may include historical interpretation, philosophical argumentation, literary analysis, textual criticism, religious studies, cultural interpretation, or other relevant scholarly activities.

For social sciences research, contributions may include research design, field investigation, empirical analysis, theoretical interpretation, policy analysis, or other relevant academic activities.

For management research, contributions may include organizational analysis, economic investigation, financial analysis, management research design, interpretation of business data, or other relevant scholarly activities.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that:

a. All listed authors meet the established authorship criteria.

b. All authors have approved the manuscript's submission.

c. All authors are informed of the editorial and peer-review processes.

d. All authors have agreed to relevant manuscript revisions and approved the final version.

e. All author names, institutional affiliations, and contact details are accurate.

f. Each author's scholarly contributions are represented accurately.

g. Any authorship-related concerns are communicated promptly to the editorial team.

All authors share responsibility for maintaining the integrity, originality, and reliability of the published research.

3. Changes to Authorship

Any addition, removal, or change in the order of authors after manuscript submission must be supported by written justification and the consent of all authors, including individuals being added or removed.

Such changes require approval from the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriately authorized independent editor when a conflict of interest exists.

Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin may temporarily suspend the editorial process until authorship-related concerns or disputes have been appropriately resolved.

Requests for authorship changes after publication will be evaluated based on supporting evidence, the nature of the requested modification, and its implications for the integrity of the scholarly record.

Approved post-publication authorship corrections must be implemented through an appropriate formal correction mechanism in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics, Retraction Policy, and applicable COPE guidelines.

Corrections necessary to preserve authorship integrity, accurately recognize legitimate scholarly contributions, or resolve substantiated attribution errors shall not incur additional fees.

In accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics, an additional fee of IDR 1,000,000 per approved request applies exclusively to author-initiated, nonessential administrative modifications after publication that require additional editorial, technical, or production work.

Such administrative modifications must not affect the scientific content, accuracy, authorship integrity, or scholarly validity of the published article.

Authorship corrections required to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record must not be classified as optional administrative modifications or subjected to administrative modification fees.

All proposed changes remain subject to editorial evaluation and approval.

4. Prohibition of Unethical Authorship Practices

Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin strictly prohibits unethical authorship practices, including gift authorship, guest authorship, honorary authorship, ghost authorship, and any other form of authorship manipulation.

Individuals must not be included as authors solely because of their academic positions, institutional authority, financial support, personal relationships, or professional influence.

Similarly, individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions and meet the established authorship criteria must not be intentionally excluded from the author list.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems cannot be listed as authors, as they cannot fulfill authorship responsibilities, provide consent for publication, or assume accountability for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of scholarly work.

The use of generative AI technology to assist in manuscript preparation, data analysis, textual interpretation, literature synthesis, or other research activities must be disclosed when it has a substantive impact on the research process or manuscript content.

Such disclosure must identify the AI tools used, explain their purposes, and specify the aspects of the research or manuscript in which they were employed.

The use of AI for technical language editing, grammar correction, or formatting assistance does not transfer responsibility for manuscript content from the authors to the technology.

Authors must independently verify all AI-assisted content, including factual statements, research interpretations, analytical results, quotations, citations, and references.

All authors remain fully responsible for the originality of the manuscript, validity of research evidence, accuracy of scholarly interpretations, protection of confidential information, and compliance with applicable research and publication ethics requirements.

5. Conflicts of Interest and Authorship Disputes

All authors must disclose relevant financial and non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, the research process, interpretation of findings, authorship attribution, or publication decisions.

Where no relevant conflicts of interest exist, authors must provide an appropriate declaration confirming their absence.

Further provisions concerning conflicts of interest are governed by the journal's Conflict of Interest Policy and Publication Ethics.

Any disputes regarding authorship must be handled objectively, fairly, confidentially, and independently of inappropriate personal, institutional, or financial influence.

The editorial team may request clarification, evidence of scholarly contributions, written consent from the authors, or other relevant documentation to assess authorship-related concerns.

When disputes cannot be resolved through the journal's editorial procedures, Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin may request an investigation or formal clarification from the relevant institutions with which the authors are affiliated.

The journal may suspend manuscript processing or defer publication decisions until significant authorship disputes have been appropriately addressed.

For published articles, substantiated authorship violations or attribution errors may require formal corrections, expressions of concern, or other appropriate editorial measures in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and Retraction Policy.

Editorial decisions concerning authorship disputes must prioritize the integrity of the scholarly record, legitimate intellectual contributions, procedural fairness, and responsible academic publishing.

6. Policy Applicability and Compliance

This policy applies to all manuscripts submitted to, accepted by, or published in Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin, including Original Research Articles, Review Articles, Case Studies, and Literary Studies within the humanities, social sciences, management, and related multidisciplinary fields.

All authors are required to comply with the established authorship criteria, accurately disclose their scholarly contributions, and assume responsibility for the integrity of their published work.

Failure to comply with this policy may result in requests for clarification, manuscript revision, suspension of editorial processing, rejection, formal correction, or other appropriate editorial action, depending on the nature and severity of the violation.

Through this policy, Metta: Jurnal Ilmu Multidisiplin seeks to ensure transparent authorship attribution, equitable recognition of scholarly contributions, academic accountability, and the responsible dissemination of multidisciplinary research.
