Allegations of Research Misconduct

Cetta: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan, Jayapangus Press, is committed to upholding research integrity and credibility of its scholarly publications. Cetta: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan adheres to the principles of transparency, accountability, fairness, independence, and due diligence in addressing any alleged breaches of research integrity or publication ethics, in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

This policy serves as the primary framework for handling alleged violations of research and publication integrity, concerning both manuscripts under review and articles that have already been published.

Types of Misconduct

Alleged breaches of research and publication integrity include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Plagiarism, including the use of others' ideas, text, data, or work without proper attribution.
  2. Data fabrication or falsification, such as the creation of fictitious data or manipulation of research data, methods, and results.
  3. Duplicate publication or simultaneous submission, including the submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals without the conclusion of the editorial process in the first journal.
  4. Manipulation of citations and the peer-review process, including the use of false identities, fictitious reviewers, or any actions that compromise the independence of the evaluation.
  5. Violations of research ethics include failing to obtain the required ethical approval, breaching the confidentiality of informants, misusing personal data, or failing to protect research participants.
  6. Manipulation of authorship and conflicts of interest, including the inclusion of individuals who do not meet authorship criteria, omission of contributors, or concealment of relevant conflicts of interest.
  7. Misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, including the presentation of inaccurate data, references, or research results, and the non-transparent use of AI when disclosure is required. Differences in scientific interpretation, unintentional errors, or divergent theoretical perspectives are not automatically categorized as breaches of research integrity. Each case is evaluated based on its nature, context, evidence, and impact on the reliability of scholarly work.

Reporting Alleged Misconduct

Any party—including readers, authors, reviewers, editors, or members of the academic community—may report alleged misconduct via the official contact channels of the Cetta: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan editorial office, as listed on the journal’s website.

Reports should include the identification of the article or manuscript, a description of the alleged misconduct, and any verifiable evidence or supporting information.

Anonymous reports may be considered provided they contain sufficient evidence to warrant an initial assessment.

Cetta: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan maintains the confidentiality of the reporter’s identity and that of other involved parties, to the extent permitted by the investigation procedures and applicable regulations.

Handling Procedures

Cetta: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan follows these procedures for handling allegations:

  1. Receipt and documentation of the reports. The editorial office receives and documents reports along with any supporting evidence.
  2. Initial assessment. The editor-in-chief or a designated editor evaluates the relevance, credibility, and sufficiency of the evidence to determine whether further investigation is required.
  3. Clarification. The author or relevant parties are given a fair opportunity to provide an explanation and supporting evidence for the allegations.
  4. Further investigation. If necessary, the editorial office may seek the opinion of independent reviewers, consult the editorial board, examine supporting documentation, or contact the author’s institution.
  5. Editorial decision. A decision is reached based on the available evidence, severity of the issue, its impact on the reliability of the research, and relevant publication ethics guidelines.
  6. Follow-up and documentation. The editorial office documents the process and final decision and takes proportionate action to uphold the integrity of scholarly publication.

Cetta: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan reserves the authority to temporarily suspend the editorial process if necessary to ensure that a thorough and adequate investigation can be conducted. Review Independence and Conflicts of Interest

Editors, reviewers, or editorial board members who have a conflict of interest regarding a submission are not permitted to participate in the review process or decision-making concerning that case.

If the Editor-in-Chief has a conflict of interest, the handling of the submission and editorial decision shall be delegated to an appointed independent editor. This provision adheres to the Cetta: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan Conflict of Interest Policy.

Editorial Actions

For manuscripts currently undergoing the editorial process, Cetta: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan may request clarification or revisions, suspend the review process, reject the manuscript, or take other actions commensurate with the nature of the issue.

For articles that have already been published, Cetta: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the nature of the issue and the available evidence.

All formal post-publication actions were carried out in accordance with the Cetta: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan Correction and Retraction Policy. Published correction notices, expressions of concern, and retractions are linked to the relevant articles to ensure the transparency of the publication record.

Relationship with Other Editorial Policies
