Language consists of a series of sounds systemized in the form of symbols, and has free, significant, conventional, universal, productive, diverse, dynamic, and humane characteristics. As a communication tool, language allows individuals to interact in social groups, convey messages, and identify themselves in society. In addition, language reflects mental representation, where the form and structure of language follow or mimic minds and ideas. Language is also considered a personality trait that reflects an individual’s beliefs and values. This research aimed to increase understanding of the role of language as a communication tool, mind representation, and identity. The research method involved an in-depth literature review, analysis of linguistic data, and observation of social phenomena in everyday language use. The analysis used a descriptive and interpretive approach to understand the relationship between language, mind, and identity. The results showed that language not only functions as a tool to convey messages but also as a medium that reflects mindset, cultural values, and social identity. The choice of language code was closely related to language ethics, influenced by a community’s social and cultural rules. This research concluded that language was a reflection of human complexity in thinking, communicating, and building identity. The ideal marriage system in the Tenganan Pegringsingan community is family exogamy or village endogamy. Regarding the marriage system governed by the traditional village regulations (awig-awig), many violations have been committed by the members of the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village, which poses a threat to the continuity of the customs and traditions of the village in the future. The objectives of this study are: to identify the causes of violations of the village endogamy marriage system in the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village, to understand the process of imposing sanctions on residents who violate this system, and to analyse the implications of these sanctions on the status and roles of the offenders within the village. This article uses a qualitative approach to gather data from various sources relevant to the research needs. Interviews with community leaders from the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village revealed that the causes of violations of the village endogamy marriage system are psychological and environmental factors. Violations of the awig-awig result in the following sanctions: exclusion from the village's communal activities (mekrama), relocation to Banjar Pande, and fines imposed on the violators' parents. The implications include differences in status and roles within the community. Residents who are not members of the krama desa adat (traditional village community) lose their rights within the traditional village. The uniqueness of the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village, which sets it apart from other villages in Bali, deserves attention from policymakers to ensure that the traditional values and cultural heritage of the village are preserved.
Ni Kadek Murtini, Wayan Sukarlinawati Copyright (c) 2024 Ni Kadek Murtini, Wayan Sukarlinawati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/3730 Wed, 25 Dec 2024 00:00:00 +0000 The Impact of Utilizing Artificial Intelligence In Independent Curriculum-Based Learning https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/3732
The 5.0 era is a milestone in all forms of technological development in various fields. Instilling Hindu character values should ideally begin in early childhood to lay a solid foundation for ethical and moral development. This study aims to analyze methods for developing Hindu character values in early childhood, focusing on three key principles: Tri Parartha, Tri Kaya Parisudha, and Tat Twam Asi. Using a library research method, data for this study was collected from journals, books, and other literature relevant to Hindu ethics and early childhood education. The research process involved setting objectives, gathering and selecting literature, reviewing content, analyzing data, synthesizing findings, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that the development of Hindu character values in early childhood requires a multi-faceted approach that considers the unique developmental stages of children. Parental involvement is critical, serving as both facilitators and role models in imparting these values. Key methods include modeling ethical behavior in daily life (Tri Kaya Parisudha), fostering empathy and interconnectedness through the principle of Tat Twam Asi, and integrating communal values (Tri Parartha) into family and social interactions. Additionally, literacy activities and positive reinforcement play vital roles in embedding these teachings effectively. In conclusion, cultivating Hindu character values in early childhood not only nurtures ethical behavior but also aligns with the broader goals of character education. This approach emphasizes the importance of synergy between parents, educators, and cultural practices to ensure children internalize and live these values in their formative years.
Ni Ketut Sumertini, I Made Sutresna Copyright (c) 2024 Ni Ketut Sumertini, I Made Sutresna https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/3726 Wed, 25 Dec 2024 00:00:00 +0000 The Hindu Religion Values Illustrated in Bhagavad Gita For Students and Beginners of Ramananda Prasad https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/3728
The perception that Hindu religious education is challenging to comprehend due to its complex philosophical language is becoming obsolete in today’s modern context. This study explores the educational values embedded within 26 illustrated stories in the Bhagavad Gita (For Students and Beginners) by Ramananda Prasad. Although universal in nature, these stories often obscure the explicit Hindu religious educational values they convey. As a foundational aspect of personal development, understanding Hindu educational values aids in building self-competence for students and beginners. This study aims to identify and analyze the concept of Hindu religious education values and their presence in the illustrated stories of the Bhagavad Gita by Ramananda Prasad. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative reference method, this research delves into the textual content of the Bhagavad Gita, interpreting its values and their application. The findings reveal that Hindu religious education is a comprehensive framework for imparting knowledge, attitudes, personality, and practical skills aligned with Hindu teachings, specifically related to the Tri Jnana Sandhi (three fundamental aspects of knowledge: Jnana, Vijnana, and Ajna). Three primary educational values emerge from the analysis: religious values, emphasizing devotion and spiritual practice; moral values, focusing on ethical behavior and integrity; and compassion values, highlighting empathy and care for others. In conclusion, the illustrated stories in Ramananda Prasad’s Bhagavad Gita serve as an accessible medium for conveying Hindu educational values, transforming complex teachings into relatable narratives that resonate with both students and beginners in their spiritual and personal growth.
Ni Ketut Kusuma Wardani, I Made Ariasa Giri Copyright (c) 2024 Ni Ketut Kusuma Wardani, I Made Ariasa Giri https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/3728 Wed, 25 Dec 2024 00:00:00 +0000
