https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/3849

This study aims to identify the key factors influencing students' choice to enroll at STAB Negeri Raden Wijaya, a state Buddhist higher education institution in Indonesia, and examine the effectiveness of its online media as promotional tools. Despite showing positive enrollment growth, understanding what attracts students to choose this institution becomes crucial for strategic development. Using a mixed-method approach with explanatory sequential design, the study combined quantitative surveys (n=150) and qualitative interviews (n=15) to gain comprehensive insights. The quantitative phase identified factors through factor analysis, while the qualitative phase provided deeper understanding through semi-structured interviews with prospective students and stakeholders. Results revealed four primary factors influencing student choice: (1) academic quality and institutional reputation, accounting for 32.5% of variance, encompassing teaching quality and program offerings; (2) environmental and family cultural factors (24.3%), including Buddhist family background and community support; (3) campus facilities and environment (18.7%), covering infrastructure and learning resources; and (4) institutional reputation (15.2%), relating to graduate employability and alumni success. Analysis of online media effectiveness showed limited engagement despite growing enrollment, with only 4-8% impact from social media and 1% from website on student recruitment, primarily due to static content and lack of interactive features. The study concludes that STAB Negeri Raden Wijaya's growth is primarily driven by academic quality and cultural factors, while suggesting the need for enhanced digital presence to better support student recruitment efforts.
Hesti Sadtyadi

https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/3953

This study investigates the narratives of contemporary romance among Filipino LGBTQ+ emerging adults, emphasizing their lived experiences, modern influences, and cultural determinants that form their relationships. A qualitative phenomenological design was employed to conduct semi-structured interviews with eight participants from a state institution in Laguna, Philippines. The findings indicated that romantic connections are crucial in identity exploration and self-affirmation. Participants characterized love as a collaboration founded on reciprocal respect, emotional intimacy, and equality, contesting established conventions and heteronormative standards. Digital platforms facilitated connections and provided safe spaces for users; nevertheless, they also engendered obstacles, including false expectations and superficial interactions. Cultural influences, including familial expectations and Catholic ideals, were substantial, offering both obstacles and avenues for growth and authenticity. This study offers insights into the interplay between identity, culture, and love; but, its limited sample size and concentration on a particular university restrict its generalizability. Future research ought to investigate many contexts, encompassing rural regions and a wider array of socioeconomic demographics, while analyzing the changing influence of technology on LGBTQ+ relationships. This study emphasizes the resilience of Filipino LGBTQ+ emerging adults and advocates for inclusive legislation and community assistance to foster acceptance and equality.
Louis Miguel CardonaInero AnchoHelga VergaraTeri-Marie LaudeRufo Gil AlborDaisy PelegrinaPhrygian Almeda

https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/3932

The teaching profession plays a crucial role in shaping the future of younger generations. However, in many regions, the welfare and recognition of teachers do not align with the significance of their contributions to society. This social inequality serves as one of the main inspirations behind I Made Sugianto’s literary work, particularly his short story Guru Abdi, featured in the collection Ngipiang Jokowi. This study aims to explore how the short story reflects the psychological experiences of teachers, especially in relation to self-concept and societal recognition. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through literary analysis and interviews. The study applies Carl Rogers' theory of self-concept, supported by Higgins' discrepancy theory, to analyze the main character, Kadek Arya. The findings reveal a state of congruence in Kadek Arya’s self-concept despite facing numerous challenges, which fosters a consistent positive attitude. Although moments of fear and anxiety-indicative of agitation-related self-do emerge, they do not diminish his overall optimism and dedication. This research concludes that literary works such as Guru Abdi can serve as reflective mediums that highlight the inner strength and resilience of teachers in the face of societal undervaluation.
Ni Made Ayu Susanthi Pradnya ParamithaI Wayan ArtayasaI Wayan Yus AdityaNi Kadek Puspita Sari

https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/3898

The increasing phenomenon of promiscuity highlights the urgent need to instill character values rooted in local wisdom, such as kasundaan. One effective medium for this is through understanding the moral values embedded in traditional pupujian texts. This research aims to (1) describe the role of pupujian in Sundanese culture, and (2) identify the kasundaan character values contained within the pupujian texts. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, focusing on the book Sawér Jeung Pupujian by Ajip Rosidi as the primary data source. The data consists of pupujian stanzas that reflect kasundaan character values. The analysis is guided by Warnaen’s theory of catur diri insan, which encompasses four pillars: pengkuh agamana (religious integrity), luhung élmuna (intellectual nobility), jembar budayana (cultural openness), and rancagé gawéna (work ethic). The findings reveal 70 stanzas containing 100 kasundaan character values. These values translate into six broader human moral principles toward God, self, others, nature, time, and the pursuit of holistic well-being. The study concludes that internalizing kasundaan character values through traditional pupujian texts can serve as a cultural strategy to foster moral resilience and promote a more meaningful life.
Marwati Marwati

https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/3897

During the colonial period, bumiputera women were positioned at the lowest social strata viewed as unintelligent, powerless, and lacking value. The culture of oppression that prevailed at the time reduced these women, including those of noble lineage, to objects of service exchange among the socially inferior. This structural subjugation and marginalization are critically represented in L. Suma Tjoe Sing's novel Siti Kartini, which serves as the material object of this research. The primary objective of this study is to explore and narrate the forms of resistance shown by bumiputera female characters against colonial oppression within the novel. Utilizing the framework of postcolonial feminism, which examines the intersection of gender and colonial power structures, this study employs a qualitative descriptive method to analyze the text. The findings indicate that colonization inevitably leads to cultural contact and interaction between colonizers and the colonized, often resulting in the systemic oppression of the latter. Within this context, women become doubly marginalized—both as colonized subjects and as females prompting them to engage in various forms of resistance. The novel Siti Kartini illustrates that bumiputera women, despite being socially oppressed, possess the agency and determination to challenge colonial and patriarchal domination.
Lidwina Putu Gratia EkaristiRenanda Putri SabrinaCahyaningrum Dewojati

https://jayapanguspress.penerbit.org/index.php/IJMS/article/view/4104

The increase in electricity consumption in Bali, which is still dependent on fossil energy, presents environmental sustainability challenges. This study examines the implementation of the Tri Hita Karana concept in the management of the Suana Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in Nusa Penida as an environmentally friendly energy solution based on local wisdom. With a descriptive qualitative research method through literature study and field observation, this study explores how Tri Hita Karana. which includes Parahyangan (spiritual harmony), Pawongan (social relations), and Palemahan (harmony with nature) can be integrated in energy management. The results of the study show that Suana Solar Power Plant not only contributes to reducing carbon emissions, but also strengthens the involvement of local communities through cultural preservation programs, economic empowerment, and clean energy education. This cultural values-based approach increases public acceptance of the green energy transition and creates a more sustainable resource management model. This study emphasizes that the integration of renewable energy technology with local wisdom can be an effective strategy in sustainable development, while maintaining harmony between humans, nature, and spirituality.
I Wayan Sugara YasaI Ketut SumadiI Wayan Sukabawa
